I know just how busy yours lives have gotten now that school has commenced, but the start of schools also marks the start of Key Club! Can you believe it?! Are you ready for another great year of service?
The secret to having a large club is having an awesome recruitment drive in the beginning of the year, to start off strong. As you plan and conduct your Club Rushes and first meetings, remember to plan everything around the members, with large fellowship and service components. Plaster your school walls with posters, make cool videos & pass out fliers! You can make first year members feel special by organizing welcome ceremony for them & inviting their parents along with local Kiwanians. Make meetings move by having guest speakers, ice breakers, food and mini service projects. However, the most important thing to remember is to greet every member with a big smile and allow your passion for KIWIN’S and service to exuberate as you share it with them.
I am very excited to announce that your clubs will receive the Key Club magazine sometime this month! Unfortunately, many advisors don’t pass them out unless asked by a member so if you have not yet received your magazine, please be sure to ask your faculty adviser! I would also like to mention that the Key Club magazine is one of the main Directives for the International Committee for Internal Development, for which I am the chair of. If you have any feedback on the magazine, or any ideas with how we can improve it, please be sure to email me and let me know. Another important update to mention is that the Membership Update Center (MUC) will open on Monday, September 14th for clubs to begin to register their paid members and officers. It is very important that your clubs are in good standing in order to receive all of the benefits of our awesome organization! If you have any problems with the MUC or any other aspects of the Dues Collection process, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Finally, I wanted to wish you all the best of luck with your District, Divisional, Club & individual goals. Your District Board has been working tirelessly to make many resources available, to make your jobs easier. Be sure to check them out as they are filled with a wealth of useful information that will make project planning and fundraising that much efficient. Unfortunately, we only have half a year left until the District Convention. Don’t take any moment for granted because time flies by faster than any of us want it to.
Thank you so much for all that you do, everybody! Keep up the hard work, push to get those dues in, and have a lovely month! As always, if you need anything at all, I'm only an email or phone call away.
Yours in Service,
