I felt really anxious to go to such an amazing event, and it was my first time in Reno, Nevada: The biggest little city in the world. When I arrived at the hotel with my Kiwanis Advisor, Victor and Jade LTG, Cerena, we met up with Erika and got ready in the hotel room. I actually realized I under packed on my clothes!
KIWIN’S' job at the convention was to manage our exhibit of our club showing. It was nice getting to talk to all the Kiwanians, most of them being elders. A lot of them did not even know what KIWIN’s was! Crazy right? Many questions popped up from “What is KIWIN’S?” to “Why doesn’t KIWIN’s just merge with Key Club?” It was hard answering the second question of why we didn't just merge. Our answer was, “KIWIN’s is another district that allows a greater chance for high school students to become a leader. Since we are smaller in size, we do believe that everybody deserves to be able to step up. Along with that, KIWIN’s also focus on family orientation. With the smaller amount of members, we are able to get to know others in a closer matter. “
This trip has given me the chance to get to know more about other District Governors and our District Assistant Administrator, Mr. Wallach, a whole lot more. IT has also given me the opportunity to meet many new people!
I thank KIWIN'S for giving me this wonderful opportunity to attend the 93rd Annual Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis District Convention!
